the BUCK stops here

This beauty was given to me for as a gift for my birthday by my brother Kyle. He hit it pretty spot on, huh?? I died when i saw the image/text that was on it- it was perfect. I am TOTALLY against hunting and could go on and on as to why i disagree with the """""""SPORT""""""".I think it is absolutely hilarious that he got this at JCPENNY- this is a real, legit sweatshirt ladies and gentlemen. I can totally picture this on a little chubby 4 year old boy that doesn't know any better as his father(or mother, sarah palin) is placing a shotgun in his hand showing him how to aim at a deer. If you can't read the text it says, "THe Buck Stops Here" with a bulls eye on a dear. Of course I am wearing it just jokingly because its just one of those things that is fitting for me, like wolves howling at moons. I am going into the sewing lab today to drape a dress so I definitely wanted to be comfortable so this outfit was put together with that in mind- and I had to showcase the wonderful gift that Kyle got me.

Headband/Earwarmer

I just made this teal headband and i love it! its a somewhat thick, ribbed knit material and its really warm too so it will serve as an ear warmer as well. Oh man, so exciting.

Oversized Menswear

Today I wore this men's short sleeve plaid shirt over a black longsleeve shirt(since its still so freezing out). Due to it being very oversized, I crossed one side over the other and wrapped a belt around my waist. I just LOVE the colors in this shirt, that's basically why I bought it. When I LOVE something I see in a thrift store but its too big, I generally still buy it because I can either alter it or i'll belt em up like I did with this one. I wore my little shoes with no soles from urban outfitters today- bad choice. My feet were freezing all day. :( definitely spring/summer shoes.
I am going to go into the sewing lab tomorrow and drape a summer dress that I drew up last night- I am really excited about it! I have a few fabric choices in mind so I'll have to see where it takes me.I'm going to make some more earrings tonight as well!

Thrift Store Pulls Through, once again

When I left my house this morning it was kind of drizzling rain outside so I wore this rainjacket that shoots me right back to feeling like I am in 2nd grade- didn't we all have raincoats such as this one? What I love most about it is the flannel lining because raincoats don't tend to be warm but this one definitely is. Once I reached school the weather had turned from a light sprinkle into a downpour of snow, so I did end up putting more of a winter coat on but it will make an appearance again soon! Oh, I got this gem at a thrift store...of course.
I cleaned my entire place last night, like really cleaned- mopped, swept, windex, vaccummed- so i got everything wicked clean but my room still feels messy because i do have some clothes thrown about.
Today was a long day at school that began at 7 this morning- i came home, watched the latest episode of LOST on hulu [best website ever] then spent a few hours drawing and now i am dead tired and ready for bed. :)

Sanity

The one thing that truly has kept me sane recently has been photography. I have taken over three rolls of film in two days and I have been thoroughly involved in it. I love taking pictures of different light situations and I can't wait until I develop them and see what I've taken!

The SUN is out

HellOO! Tuesday morning before I leave for class and I am feeling a lot better today. Still a little bit groggy but definitely MUCH improved. My cellphone is supposed to arrive today so that's very exciting! I can't wait to get home from school and watch the bachelor finale- lame, i know, but i got sucked in. I hope I don't accidentally hear/see who won today while at school!!
It's really sunny out today so i can actually start getting USE out of all of my sunglasses. I am a huge sunglasses collector, i loveeee them! These ones here are dragon, but I bought them off of one of my guy friends in Nantucket. I enjoy them.
Today I am wearing a black hat from H&M that i tucked my hair back into with lack of anything else to do with it. On top I am wearing a plaid top from Forever 21 with an old school stretch blazer from charlotte russe. on the bottom I am wearing a pair of purplish/blue pants from forever 21. I am also wearing a pair of the earrings that I made yesterday! It actually seems pretty nice out today so I might not even need the blazer once i get to school, which would be fine cause i love the shirt as is.

I wasn't feeling well today at allll, I'm thinking it was the long drive back to school at 5 am this morning that did me in. So I was at home and instead of watching shows on hulu all day I did some creative stuff!! I HOMEMADE over 10 pairs of earrings today that I am VERY excited about(inspired by ariane). I don't know which ones to wear first! I really like them all- I also made some others that are not pictured here. Also, I wrapped up my friend jane's (belated belated) Christmas present, haha. My excuse is that i have been building the present as I go, its not just one big thing, just a bunch of little things. So I spent a while today wrapping that and putting the 'ol personal touch on everything. After I finished wrapping up all of that shiz, I made a few homemade cards for people. I filled all of the cards out, made bright fun envelopes for them and prepared them for MAILING. Throughout the day I also shot almost a complete roll of film. I was getting very inspired. Our new assignment is dealing with light so I was setting up little photo shoots all over my place. Such a productive day, in a non-school sense. Just a fun, creative, hobby filled day, the best kind. I left my cell phone at my sisters house this weekend which is just such a weird feeling. I've gone without a cell phone before but for some reason now that I have a blackberry, i truly rely on it very heavily! e-mails, contacts, schedule,ALARM CLOCK, etc!
Busy week ahead- Nights like tonight I wish I had cable so i could watch the BACHELOR FINALEEE. nobody tell me what happened!!!
